Military Airworthiness Mutual Recognition between Directorate General Technical Airworthiness (DGTA) of Malaysia and Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) Republic of Korea
A certificate exchange ceremony for the Mutual Airworthiness Recognition between the DGTA of Malaysia and DAPA Republic of Korea was successfully held on 21 Oct 25 during the International Military Airworthiness Certification Conference (IMACC) in Seoul.
Representing the State Airworthiness Authority of Malaysia, Major General Muhd Aznor Bin Hj Md Ghazali RMAF, Assistant Chief of Staff Engineering, Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) attended the event, while Minister Seok Jong Gun, Minister of DAPA, represented the DAPA Republic of Korea. Also present were Colonel Nik Ahmad Nazri Bin Nik Yaacob RMAF, Director General of DGTA Malaysia, and Mr Lee Daeyong, Director of the Military Airworthiness Division, DAPA.
The recognition achieved between two organisations signifies a major step forward in strengthening military airworthiness authority collaboration between Malaysia and the Republic of Korea. This mutual recognition will not only streamline the processes of technical airworthiness aspect but paves the way for greater technical exchange and a more robust partnership with the Republic of Korea’s vibrant defense industry under DAPA’s leadership.
Attended by international delegations and prominent representatives from the Republic of Korea's defense industries, the DGTA was privileged to receive an invitation from the DAPA to deliver a presentation during the conference. The presentation, entitled “Implementing the EMAR Framework in the Malaysian MAA: Challenges and Continuous Improvement of the Framework through Airworthiness Recognition,” was delivered by Lieutenant Colonel Ir. Rengiah s/o Sinnathamby RMAF.
