All Royal Malaysian Navy flying squadrons which are Squadron 503, Squadron 601, Squadron 501 and Squadron 502, were awarded the Approved Maintenance Organisation (AMO) by the Directorate General Technical Airworthiness (DGTA) at two different ceremonials on 10th July 23 at Stesen Udara Kota Kinabalu (SUKK) and 12th July 23 at RMN 

Airwing Headquarters, Lumut. The AMO certification by DGTA sculpts a new history for all squadrons, and all certificates are effective from 22nd March 23 to 21st March 26.
The AMO certificate submission was successfully officiated by the Director General of DGTA, Brigadier General Ir. Nordin bin Abdul Ghani RMAF to Commander Naval Air, First Admiral Ahmad Shafirudin bin Abu Bakar as Operational Airworthiness Authority during both events.
The Commander Eastern Fleet, Vice Admiral Dato' Pahlawan Hj Muhammad Ruzelme bin Hj Ahmad Fahimy witnessed the submission of AMO certification in SUKK. Squadron 503 and Squadron 601 have been formally recognised as AMOs by the DGTA for the scope of maintenance of the AW139 Maritime Operations Helicopter and the ScanEagle UAS. Meanwhile, Squadron 501 and Squadron 502 maintain the legacy of Superlynx Mk100 and AS555SN Fennec. This certification also proves that the RMN is always committed to ensuring that the aircraft's airworthiness is always safe and protected to provide the best to support maritime operations in the eastern and western fleet.
