The MAA RTAF delegation was led by Gp Capt Chetta Rangnoi, Deputy Director of MAA, RTAF. The itinerary included a discussion, update and review of the previous SMEE Airworthiness Meeting in Chiangmai, Thailand and a discussion on new agenda points by DGTA and RTAF MAA.

Discussion and various airworthiness topics have been conducted under six meeting agendas covering nine MAAs presentations. The meeting agenda consisted of Airworthiness Framework in DGTA and MAA RTAF, Training Organisation Certification and Licensing Process, Maintenance Organisation Certification, Military Airworthiness Recognition Question (MARQ), Design Organisation Certification Process and Aircraft Certification Process.

 

Both sides expressed pleasure over the knowledge input between the MAA and reiterated the need to expand the ties further by building on the Bilateral Airworthiness Recognition progress. Moreover, the recognition enables national aerospace industries to use their organisational approvals as acknowledgement in Malaysia or Thailand towards similar approvals for foreign acquisition or maintenance contracts. DGTA and MAA-RTAF hope this program becomes a starting point for excellence for both parties, especially in enforcing airworthiness requirements onto state and military aircraft in the future.
