The MSTA Series 18/23 Conference has taken place at Hotel Holiday Villa, Johor Bahru, from October 30th to November 2nd, 2023.
The annual event, managed by DGTA, brought together State Aircraft Operators (SAO) and all industry stakeholders involved in aviation engineering management, maintenance and training of aircraft maintenance, aeronautical products, and aircraft-related equipment.
One of the objectives of this conference is to share information and discuss current issues related to Technical Airworthiness. Futhermore, the event serves as a platform to discuss findings and analysis from airworthiness audits throughout the year 2023. It also serves as a medium for discussions and exchange of opinions between regulators and industry players, with a focus on improving the performance of the National Aerospace Industry and adhering to airworthiness regulations.
Director General of DGTA, Brig Gen Ir Nordin bin Abdul Ghani RMAF officiated the conference by delivered his greeting and followed by opening speech by ACoS Engineering, Maj Gen Hishammuddin bin Abdul Rahman RMAF.
The highlight of day one was Professional Talk on ‘The Benefit of Migrating to EMAR/EASA Airworthiness Framework from Industry Perspective’ by Prof Ts. Shamsul Kamar Abu Samah from NAICO.
Soon after the Coffee Break, conference continued with Professional Talk on ‘
R&D (Aerospace, Security & Defense) In Compliance with Airworthiness Regulation - Challenges to Local Defense Industry’ by
Datuk Ir Hj Kamarulzaman bin Hj Zainal from G7 Global.
First day of the conference ended with a presentation on ‘D
GTA Annual Report and Audit Analysis for the Year 2023’ by
Lt Col Roshenry bin Md Sharif.
The second day of the conference starts with Professional Talk on ‘Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Aircraft & Aeronautical Product Testing Capabilities’ by Prof Madya Ir Dr Shabudin bin Mat from UTM.
Presentation by SO 1 ASDR DGTA, Cdr Muhammad Irwan Fazli bin Ali @ Ghazali RMN on ‘Latest Technical Airworthiness Advisory Circular (TAAC) issued by DGTA in year 2023’.
The conference continued with Professional Talk from Mr Ahmad Rashide bin Mustapah - Engineering General Manager from Weststar Aviation Services Sdn. Bhd. on ‘Aircraft Life-Cycle Management: Effect of Safety, Technology, Airworthiness & Reliability towards Aircraft Service Life'.
After the Lunch Break, Lt Col Sah Rurazi bin Ahmad RMAF continued with Professional Talk on ‘Authorisation Certification Process in Training Prospective’.
Professional Talk by Prof Ir Dr Shuhaimi bin Mansor on ‘Aerospace Research Sustaining Aerospace Industry’.
MSTA 18/2023 conference continued with presentation of AEO, AMO and CAMO certificate by Deputy Chief of Air Force, Lt Gen Datuk Seri Haji Muhamad Norazlan bin Aris RMAF.
G7 Aerospace Sdn. Bhd (Cyberjaya) received the AEO Certification for
Design Development, Review and Approval of Design Data Package for Non-Standard Repair on RMAF Su-30MKM Multifunction Display (MFD), RMAF Hawk Mk 108/208 Multipurpose Display (MPD) & Avionics Component, Equipment and Related Parts for PUTD A109 Helicopters and
Design Development, Review and Approval of Modification and Upgrade on Obsolete and Beyond Economical Repair (BER) Avionics and Related Equipment For RMAF.
Meanwhile, G7 Aerospace Sdn. Bhd (Melaka) received the AEO Certification for Design Development, Review and Approval of Design Data Package and Fabrication of Aircraft Ground Support Equipment (AGSE) for Pasukan Udara Tentera Darat (PUTD).
DEFTECH Aviation Sdn. Bhd received the AEO Certification for Design Development, Review, Approval and Fabrication Activities of Design Change on Composites and Advanced Composites Engineering Technologies for RMAF.
Agriquip Machinery Sdn. Bhd received the AEO Certification for Design Development, Review and Approval and Production of Ground Power Unit (GPU).
For AMO
, AIROD Sdn. Bhd received the Certification for
Intermediate Level Maintenance (ILM) for Minor Servicing, Minor Star Servicing and Depot Level Maintenance (DLM) for Major Servicing, Modification Incorporation as Approved Design Data From OEM or AEO and Unscheduled Maintenance.
Followed by OLM for Pre, Post & Turn Around Inspection and Unscheduled Maintenance and ILM for Up To 600 & 1000 Hours Inspection, Unscheduled Inspection and Modification Incorporation as Approved Design Data From OEM Or AEO for Mi-171 & Mi-17-IV helicopters.
For Continuing Airworthiness Management Organisation (CAMO)
, Galaxy Aerospace (M) Sdn. Bhd received the Certification for
Leonardo AW139 & Airbus AS365N3 helicopters.
Followed by CAMO Certification for WESTSTAR Aviation Sdn. Bhd. for Leonardo AW139 helicopters.
This year's conference rules out 3 resolutions which are Enhancing the Growth and Capability of The National Aerospace Industry, Strengthening Collaboration and Cooperation between The Government and Aerospace Defence Industry and finally, Cultivating a Culture of Compliance with Airworthiness Regulation.
