SMEE Airworthiness is one of activities listed under Air Working Group (AWG) Malaysia - Thailand.

The meeting is conducted bi-annually and hosted rotationally by both countries. This year, the meeting was held on the 12th to 13th of February at Novotel Bangkok Future Park Rangsit Hotel, Thailand. The hosting delegation was led by Air Vice Marshall Panit Ponok, Director General of Military Aviation Authority (MAA), Royal Thailand Air Force (RTAF), gave a warm addressed of appreciation and satisfaction with the significant growing of the program between the two authorities.The meeting is conducted bi-annually and hosted rotationally by both countries. The DGTA delegation was led by Col Ruszali bin Zakaria RMAF, Director of AAER, expressed gratitude to MAA delegations for organizing such an enthusiastic atmosphere meeting. The highlights of the meeting included a discussion, update and review of the previous SMEE Airworthiness Meeting on 8th to 9th of August last year, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and followed by discussion on new agenda points by MAA, RTAF.The DGTA delegation was led by Col Ruszali bin Zakaria RMAF, Director of AAER, expressed gratitude to MAA delegations for organizing such an enthusiastic atmosphere meeting. The discussions expanded to the UAS certification process which involves several key steps to ensure the safe and compliant into the state airworthiness authority. Both sides agreed that the standard and guidelines need to be established and considering the Design Acceptance Representative (DAR) involvement.

Various of airworthiness topics have been steered and presented by both sides covering Design Change Development and Training Requirement process. This led to exchange and share of experience and knowledge between both delegations which essential of growing the airworthiness requirement.

The meeting showed a mutual understanding and expressed gratefulness over the contributions by both delegations to strengthen the ties through Bilateral Airworthiness Recognition. DGTA and MAA-RTAF are confident to ensure this program will excel for both authorities in enforcing airworthiness in the future.
