Since 2019, the Directorate General Technical Airworthiness (DGTA) and the French State Aviation Safety Authority (DSAÉ) have established a bilateral airworthiness recognition agreement, with DGTA being acknowledged as the Military Airworthiness Authority (MAA). This recognition is important for recognizing each other's Airworthiness Framework.

As part of their post-airworthiness recognition efforts, DGTA and DSAÉ have regularly participated in training and knowledge-sharing programs. One notable activity, called the Subject Matter Expert Exchange (SMEE), centered on the implementation of EMAR M (Continuing Airworthiness Management), covering aspects such as the conduct of Continuing Airworthiness Management Organization (CAMO) and Certificate of Airworthiness audits. This activity occurred from 18th to 22nd, March  2024, in DGTA.

Capt Mickael Coterot represented DSAÉ during the activity, engaging with all officers and staff members from various departments within DGTA and No 8 Sqn. This training was particularly relevant as DGTA is currently implementing the EMAR airworthiness framework within the Malaysian State Aircraft. The training facilitated the exchange of best practices and knowledge from DSAÉ to DGTA, towards the successful implementation of the new regulation.
