No 18 Squadron has successfully renewed AMO certification under the TAMM Regulation Airworthiness Management System (AMS) during a certificate awarding ceremony held on 22nd Oct 24 at the DGTA officiality. The ceremony has been officiated by the Director General of DGTA, YBhg Brigadier General Ruszali bin Zakaria RMAF, accompanied by the Director of AAMR Division, Colonel Ts. Md Hanafiah bin Yaacob RMAF, Director of TAQR Division, Colonel Marzuki bin Ramli RMAF and Head of Engineering Flight No 18 Squadron who is also Senior Maintenance Manager, Lt Col Ahmad Faisal Niza bin Ramli RMAF as the certificate recipient.
The No 18 Squadron is seeking to maintain AMO certification under TAMM during MSTAM transition period to balance its resources on its current and on going operational taskings and requirement, while at the same time remain committed to subscribe to new MSTAM regulation within the timeframe of the transition. The issuance of the AMO certification serves as an instrument to ensure safety standard in delivering it demanding operational requirements.
In his speech, the DG reminded regulators and the AMO holder of ongoing F18 fleet activities regarding the Structure Life Extension Programme (SLEP), upgrade and fleet expansion to ensure any potential risk being addressed and managed within the prescribed airworthiness and safety framework.
